The written section of the numeracy skills test is less about the time constraints like the mental arithmetic section and more about topic knowledge. There are plenty of GCSE Maths topics that appear in the numeracy skills test and it is all about knowing the relevant topics inside out. Many of the questions centre around being able to answer data questions and analyse graphs. The key topics to learn for the written section of the numeracy skills test are as follows:
• Fractions
• Decimals
• Percentages
• Ratio and proportion
• Cumulative Frequency Curves
• Box Plots
• Pie charts
• Averages
• Speed, distance and time
• Two way graphs
To practice the topics above along with the mental arithmetic section, you can take our free numeracy skills test. If you want more practice then sign up to access our 21 practice tests along with many additional features including revision topic tests which help you to practise your weaker areas. If after accessing our QTS Maths tests then you can always book an expert tutor who specialises in teaching numeracy skills.
