At QTS Maths Tutor we focus solely on the professional numeracy skills test as this is our area of expertise; however, prospective teachers have to also pass the literacy skills test. The literacy skills test is split into four sections which test punctuation, spelling, grammar and comprehension. The test is marked out of 41 or 49 depending on which test is presented on the day.  The national pass rate for the literacy skills test is higher than the numeracy test which people tend to find more challenging on a whole. The literacy skills test lasts for 45 minutes. You can gain access to practice literacy skills tests via the government website, http://sta.education.gov.uk/professional-skills-tests/literacy-skills-tests.

Both the literacy and numeracy skills tests have to be passed in order to gain entry on to your teacher training course and are essential for gaining qualified teacher status. At QTS Maths Tutor we are focussed on helping the users of our service to pass the professional numeracy skills test first time. For those people who have all ready failed one or two attempts then QTS Maths Tutor becomes even more significant as we have all of the tools and resources to ensure that you can improve and make it to the level required to pass your numeracy skills test. Contact QTS Maths Tutor today for more information about our service.
