How to get maths GCSE quickly
At QTS Maths Tutor we help students achieve academic success in various subjects. We often get asked if there is a way to get a maths GCSE quickly. There are various routes available to students but the standard GCSE exam isn’t an easy option. GCSE exams are done at set times with set regulations, but in this post we are going to discuss the other options.
The main issue with GCSE exams is that students are only able to sit them on specified dates in November and May/June. There are 3 paper based exams that have to be done in a registered exam centre. This means that for each exam you will have to attend the exam centre on 3 separate days, there is no wiggle room to change this because everyone in the country has to sit the exam at the same date and time. We’ve seen that a lot of adult learners tend to avoid the standard GCSE route due to there not being any flexibility, so instead we suggest the functional skills maths level 2. Functional skills maths qualifications are recognised as a GCSE grade C equivalent, as like GCSE exams they follow ofqual regulations. They are also a really flexible option as they are sat at your home and you can choose your own date and time. Results for online exams only take a matter of days, which is significantly shorter than paper exams that take around 6 weeks for results. The other route available is GCSE equivalency tests. These tests aren’t as widely accepted as functional skills or GCSEs and are often specific to teacher training, which is something to keep in mind when considering this option.
How to get a maths GCSE quickly can be affected by multiple factors, but you should be able to find a route that works for you. Functional skills exams are the fastest way to receive results, so they are generally the best option. If you need support with any educational needs, please contact us at QTS Maths Tutor today.
