GCSE Maths Questions

At QTS Maths Tutors, we provide help for students in all core areas of their studies. For this week, we want to discuss GCSE maths revision. It can be difficult to find the best questions, which is why a lot of students reach for past papers. Past papers are a great source to use, but aren’t the best place to start. They are not as readily available to use and are often challenging. The best way to prepare for your exam is to start with questions that are broken down into smaller sections, such as MME questions by topic which are easily accessible and sorted by exam board.
If you struggle to stay focused on revision, we’ve found that getting into a good routine can help massively. When completing GCSE maths questions, it’s important to learn from your mistakes. A great way to do this is by making notes of any mistakes when marking up the questions at the end of a topic. You can ask your tutor to mark your questions and provide feedback or mark yourself using the mark scheme provided. As you move from topic to topic, you can add to this and use it as a guide of areas to refer back to that need improving.
To further solidify and measure what you’ve learnt it’s best to repeat this same process with the GCSE maths past papers, so you continue to learn from your mistakes. After you finish all the papers this should round out everything that you’ve learnt whilst also giving you an idea of exam question styles. Hopefully by using these steps you will feel more ready for your GCSE maths exam. Please contact us at QTS Maths Tutors with any questions or for academic assistance.
