How to Book your Numeracy Skills Test
The professional numeracy skills test which you have to pass in order to achieve qualified teacher status is a condition set by the Department for Education but they themselves do not carry out the tests but instead employ a third party to do so. The third party that is responsible for all of the numeracy skills test admissions is Learndirect. In order to book your numeracy skills test you need to visit the Learndirect site directly. You will first have to register and meet the relevant criteria. If it is your first attempt then you will not have to pay but if not then the charge is just below £20. You will go through a number of dates you can select and locations of where you can take the test. There are many numeracy skills testing centres throughout England, with multiple sites in the larger cities like London. Please ensure that before you have booked a location and date for your numeracy skills test that you know exactly how you will get there whether that be by public transport or by car and make sure you leave plenty of time. If you need to cancel a numeracy skills test booking or rearrange you can do so as long as you give enough notice. This notice period may change at any time and therefore we encourage you to visit the learndirect site to find out exactly how long it is but usually it is 48 hours.
