What is the Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Exam?

The FS Maths L2 Exam is a GCSE equivalent qualification in Maths that someone can get if they don’t already have a C or 4 In GCSE Maths. The exam itself is split up into 2 sections, these are the non-calculator, and the calculator papers. Which will last 2 hours overall and must be taken together. The papers themselves will cover a variety of topic, included but not limited to:

  • Common measures
  • Shapes and spaces
  • Handing information and data
  • Percentages
  • Probability

Why is it useful for me?

This is very useful as if you didn’t have a C or 4 in GCSE Maths you can get the Functional Skills Maths Level 2 qualification. Which allows you to have access to university courses, apprenticeships, as well as other course routes. Which you were unable to do before because you didn’t have the correct grades.

This is beneficial as it gives you more choice as to which exam board suits you, as all of them have their different pros and cons. Which will need to be taken into consideration when choosing who to go with. These pros and cons include:

  • Speed of booking
  • Speed of results
